Measuring Your Lawn

Leatherjackets
The Leatherjacket (larvae of the crane fly) exists in the soil from the autumn to the following spring and feed off the turf and roots, biting off stems at or just below ground level resulting in the turf dying back often in clumps. (application of nematodes at the correct time of year will control these and help develop a healthy lawn)
Red Thread
Red Thread occurs mostly on turf where there is a low soil nitrogen level however, there are cases of nutrient independent Red Thread attacks. Light brown spots can be seen on the turf, which has a reddish appearance. Compacted soils or conditions where poor rooting is likely can increase disease occurrence.
Chafer Grub
Chafer grubs are the larvae of the chafer beetle. They can cause problems on any grassed area including lawns by feeding on the roots of your lawn.
The larvae can be controlled by applying a biological nematode at the correct time of year.
Moisture Retention
The application of a specialist wetting agent to manage and maintain moisture. Levels below ground and to help reduce water usage during hotter months by acting like a sponge to hold water in the right place.
Rapid Greening
This treatment is a liquid/granular feed that will produce a dark green healthy lawn in a short period of time that will also help restrict moss spores forming in the lawn.
